U-section – Model 2598

PRIMO’s U-section is a versatile plastic profile used to finish and secure the flashing around the opening of windows and doors. It is ideal for creating a neat transition and ensuring the stable installation of sheet material.

The U-section can either be fixed mechanically using small nails or with a strong mounting adhesive or silicone for an invisible and durable installation.

How to do it:

Cutting
Cut the U-section to the required lengths using a fine-toothed saw. Take care with the angles at the corners.
Preparing the surface
Ensure the surface is dry and free from dust, grease and unevenness.
Choice of fastening
Method:
– For gluing: Apply a suitable amount of alcohol-based silicone or installation adhesive to the inside of the U-profile.
– For nailing: Use small nails or staples and drive them carefully through the edge of the profile without damaging the material.
Positioning and pressing
Fit the U-section around the edge of the panel or the opening and press it firmly into place. If necessary, use masking tape to hold the profile in place until the adhesive has set.
Finishing
Wipe off any excess adhesive with a cloth and spirit. Check that all corners fit tightly and neatly.
