Solid plastic base glazing beads are a sturdy, long-lasting, and maintenance-free solution for windows with sliding sashes—ideal for both renovation and new construction. Their solid construction makes the beads stable and easy to install. The beads are made of UV- and weather-resistant plastic that does not absorb water, does not rot, and requires no painting or other maintenance.

The bottom glazing beads are equipped with an effective drip edge that directs water away from the window and protects the frame from moisture damage. An attached black glass strip ensures a tight and durable seal against the glass, and the glazing beads can be used with both single-pane and insulated glass. With four different sizes available, it is easy to find a solution that fits your project perfectly while significantly extending the window’s lifespan.

PRIMO’s solid plastic base glazing beads are easy to customize and install—whether for renovations or new construction.

The mouldings are cut with a fine-toothed saw and fastened with stainless steel nails or screws. To ensure a sturdy and durable installation, we recommend fastening every 15 cm and no more than 5 cm from the ends. The solid plastic material does not split during installation, making the job quick and hassle-free—even for less experienced tradespeople.

We also recommend that the base glazing beads not be painted in dark colours, as this can affect the plastic’s dimensional stability and service life.

Installing the glazing bead is this easy:

Measure and cut the base glazing bead with a fine-toothed saw.
Secure with stainless steel nails or screws—no more than 15 cm between each fastener and no more than 5 cm from the ends.
The glazing beads do not split and are easy to work with.
Ensure that adjacent glass strips fit properly and that there is adequate ventilation.
