When installing plastic side window bead, it is important to ensure precise cuts and proper fastening to achieve a tight and neat finish.
The mouldings are trimmed at both the bottom and top to match the window’s dimensions and angles.
Always use stainless steel nails or screws to ensure long-lasting durability.
The side glazing bead can also be used as top window trim, and installation is performed in the same manner.
Avoid dark colours, as they can cause the plastic to overheat and warp.
Installing the side glazing bead:
Cut the bottom at an angle that matches the slope of the bottom glazing trim
Measure from the bottom glazing bead to the top of the window and subtract 7 mm to allow for clearance
Cut the top at a 45° bevel
Secure with stainless steel nails or screws every 15 cm and no more than 5 cm from each end
Installation as a top glazing bead:
Measure the width for the top glazing bead
Cut both ends at a 45° bevel
Secure with stainless steel nails or screws every 15 cm and no more than 5 cm from each end
NOTE: Painting the plastic mouldings in dark colours is not recommended.
